I've been very lucky to attend the University of Minnesota, and meet the great folks at CARLA. I've helped at a CARLA Conference, and avidly read through yeras and years of their email newsletters. There is nothing more lovely than Scotland in the summer. And, if you're going to be in Scotland, there is a plethora of festivals to attend! Edinburgh, that wonderful city, is just packed with festivals in the summer.

Money is pretty important, and most places have it. One recent exception: the Khmer Rouge, who brutally ruled Cambodia between 1975 and 1979, outlawed money because they considered it anti-socialist. Given that one in five Cambodians died during their five-year rule on account of starvation, disease, and execution, one can be skeptical that this – or most any other decision the Khmer Rouge made – was a good one. But back to money and other countries…/p>

Some of the most beautiful places on earth are under water. The noise of the world is muted, and you tune into the subtler sounds of the sea. It is a magical, mystical place that I feel very privileged to explore.
