TONITE – Feb 8 at 8 pm – An Evening with 2Cellos
The 2 young Croatian heart-throb cellists, Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser, known as 2CELLOS, have achieved international success by taking the cello to a new level with their incredible talent and passion. They have broken down the boundaries between classical and film music to pop and rock, and are equally impressive whether playing Bach and Vivaldi or ‘rocking out’ to AC/DC and Iron Maiden. Cold Play ... But Every Day? London in Winter

Now...it did not start well. A wifely expletive, just as I'd closed the door of the apartment; the gut-chilling realisation that the security swipe card and keys were inside. So too, the bag containing the flight tickets and a wad of currency. Duck indeed! Contact the building manager. He'd gone home. Messages left, taxi cancelled. Time critical, called Wendy's daughter Emily, a last resort. She had a spare key and security swipe card, but was also 25 minutes away, and with Sydney traffic ...

Museo Atlantico: A New Underwater Museum in Lanzarote, Spain

One of my very favorite artists is Jason deCaires Taylor. His underwater sculptures have long intrigued me. I can't WAIT to get underwater and see them. We've interviewed Jason about the Underwater Sculpture Park he created in Grenada.

Top 10 European Destinations to Visit in 2016!

Europe is blessed with such stunning natural landscapes and wonderful cities, that it’s impossible to travel and explore this vast continent in one go. The usual, bucket list European destinations like London, Paris and Rome are still popular, but are always getting jam-packed with tourists. Add the challenges of mass migration of refuges to European hinterlands, exploring the conventional, mainstream European Cities is certainly not among the most coveted travel experiences of Europe

I met my friend from Minneapolis over a decade ago and we’ve been friends ever since. She was one of the first to show me the joys of Midwest life, explain the intricacies of a lock and dam, share the roadside attraction of the Jolly Green Giant, and take me to the mecca that is the Mall of America. She was with me when I set foot in Lake Superior, crossed the border into Wisconsin, ogled at the Spoon and Cherry in the country’s largest urban sculpture garden, and even took the picture as I posed with Mary Tyler Moore throwing her hat in the air.

Advice from a Local: 12 Best Places to Eat in Milwaukee

When we were in Milwaukee last weekend visiting family, food was never far from our minds. This could be because we are food people, or because Milwaukee has more great food than you can imagine, or a lovely confluence of the two. We were “researching” an article on great eating in Milwaukee for i8tonite.com - my Cheat Sheet to Eating in Milwaukee, and had great difficulty narrowing down the recommendations.

The Carnegie Science Center, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is one of the most wonderful places for anyone, especially children, to learn about science through all five senses and interactive experiences. I remember as a young child taking field trips there in primary school. I visited about five years ago when my brothers were still little and a family friend treated all of us there because her daughter worked there.

Travel Writers’ Secrets: Top Newfoundland Travel Tips

Fasten your seatbelts! This summer, we took an Epic Canadian Road Trip, driving from our home in Kalamazoo, Michigan all the way out to St. John’s, Newfoundland (yes, a ferry was involved). Why? Well, I’m the co-founder of Writing Walking Women, and we chose St. John’s as the site of our conference this year – MUCH more on that to come!
