Finally!

That was the word heard all around Oklahoma City June 6 as the Thunder fought off the San Antonio Spurs - a veteran team with 3 championships in the last decade. It was about time the Thunder made it to the big stage. After statements calling them too young and inexperienced, the Thunder came out this year with a chip on their shoulder…not to mention their loss in the conference finals last year. The critics were silenced June 6 as the Thunder took the game from the Spurs with the help of their leader Kevin Durant (only 23 years old), who played the entire game with 34 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 assists.

3 of those 34 points came with a clutch 3-pointer off a pick from Kendrick Perkins to give the Spurs at 2-point lead which they would eventually add on to thanks to 3-pointers from “The Veteran” Derek Fisher andThe Beard” James Harden. Now the Thunder can reach basketball biggest stage with one goal in mind - to win. Or, as better said by Thunder center Kendrick Perkins, “Let’s get four more of these (wins).”
