The Ocean Enlightens Me
The tide enchants me with its consistency. The creatures fill my heart, and the unknown drives me. With each beat of the ocean’s heart, it sends waves rising up, crashing on the shore, or slowly stretching up to gently kiss the sand.
Filled with many wonders, it isn’t a surprise to say the ocean is one of the most unexplored places on the earth; with 71% of the earth’s surface being ocean, it’s easy to say there is much left to be discover. From the bitterly cold waters of the artic to the warm waters of the tropics, the ocean is home to fascinating creatures of different sizes and shapes. Just dip below the surface and a whole new world is revealed, full of excitement and dazzling colors. Magical, majestic creatures roam free through this big blue world. From tiny little sea horses to gigantic blue whales, the ocean is home to many creatures.
Strolling along a beach can set all your worries at ease; the calm ocean breeze flows through your hair, your toes sink into the sand. You experience a moment of peace - filling your lungs with salty air and exhaling all the troubles of the world; or a moment of thrilling adventure when you realize there is more to the world than what we can discover.
Spending my whole childhood being familiar with the ocean, I never realized the depth and vastness of the sea until I immersed myself more deeply. Diving with sharks, or being amidst schools of manta rays as they swam gracefully around me, I began to realize how much more there is to the ocean than a simple beach trip filled with sand castles and body boarding. There is a whole unknown world at our fingertips.
