Why You Need To See The Unlikely Candidates Live
Flaunting outsider panache and theatrical hooks as oversized as their home state of Texas, The Unlikely Candidates formed at a high school party before going on to release three EPs and log countless miles on the road alongside everyone from Sublime With Rome, The Offspring, the Dirty Heads, Goo Goo Dolls, and Fall Out Boy.
The Unlikely Candidates is Kyle Morris (vocals), Brent Carney (lead guitar), Cole Male (guitar), Jared Hornbeek (bass) and Kevin Goddard (drums).
We had the honor to go see them and two other bands at The Stache, a local concert bar in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with three other stages, which go by three other names. The Stache is dark, moody place, with a chill energy and thrilled guests.
Everyone cheered as they came on the stage, excited and thrilled for the music experience—and The Unlikely Candidates surely gave it.
Phenomenal voices combined into a melodramatic medley, with bursts of electric guitar and drums shining through. The audience was captured. The energy never dropped, their voices only getting louder and better through each song. The solos driving through the air were almost visible.
Absolutely electric on stage, The Unlikely Candidates are bound to be a huge success everywhere they go, whenever they want.
They demand your attention, their talent shining through each song. Strong musicians as individuals, unbreakable as a group, it would be a huge mistake to miss them—wherever they are performing.
