Foodie Finds: Steak Academy, Inverness, Scotland
NOTE: Steak Academy is now closed. ALAS!!
Shopping can sure make you hungry. Whilst wandering around Inverness, Scotland, shopping (especially in the Victorian Marketplace, a unique covered market), our stomachs were rumbling. We happened upon the Steak Academy, and followed our bliss.
It's an excellent restaurant that focuses on Scottish food with a twist of the exotic. The menu and wine lists were extensive. We chose from the lunch menu, which was very reasonably priced. Although known for their game and steak, of course, we had a difficult time choosing from the large menu.
We started with brie and cranberry sauce - delightful!
While our daughter had Macaroni and cheese (which she loved), my husband had the Wild Scottish Salmon, and I had a prawn and steak stir fry. They were all incredibly delicious.
The service was attentive. The decor was soothing after all the stores - a soft dark brown, with great music. There were a variety of other diners, mostly in larger groups - it's a great place to while away a few hours.
We can't wait to go back.
