Ibiza is rightly famed for its heady party atmosphere, unforgettable boat cruises, and shimmering island coves. To say there is something for everyone would be a shocking understatement: Ibiza, part of Spain's Balearic Islands, serves up so many different versions of paradise it has earned its place as a favourite destination for holidaymakers of all ages and backgrounds, many of whom have even taken up residence on the island for parts of the year.

Heady Summer Nights...

Even the name Ibiza has become synonymous with club music, thanks to its famous star-studded parties and highly acclaimed nightclubs that draw in the best DJs and promoters from all over the world. As the global capital of clubbing, Ibiza is dotted with unparalleled clubbing institutions such as Pacha and Es Paradis, which host some of the most glamorous and vibrant party nights that see revellers dancing until daylight in a glorious array of colour and camaraderie. Rooted in the historical backdrop of Ibiza Town, Pacha has been the powerful jewel in Ibiza's party crown for at least 40 years.

For the less energetic, Ibiza offers an equally delightful range of atmospheric bars and restaurants, where tourists relax and watch the famous Ibiza sunset. Foodies will not be disappointed by the huge array of Ibiza restaurants offering authentic Indian, Italian, or Chinese cuisine, as well as local speciality sea-foods. Every appetite is catered for with enchanting finds that even include sushi restaurants and steakhouses that regularly score a tasty five stars on well-known review sites. Club music fans can also chill-out in pioneering sunset bars such as Cafe Del Mar and Savannah, which complement a glowing Mediterranean sunset with ambient music from big-name DJs.

...And Days

Daytime in Ibiza is just as exhilarating as the nightclub scene, with a vast array of fun family beaches as well as quieter coves that sing of romance and private hideaways. Sun worshippers can top up their tans on tranquil golden sands, while adrenaline junkies can ignite their passion by cliff-diving, surfing, or hovering over the sea on a jet-pack adventure. Glorious beaches are complemented by stunning forest scenery and mountain views enjoyed during an unforgettable horse-riding trek, while numerous boat tours offer gentle sailing or energetic party cruises for those wanting to club in the day. Divers can enjoy over 200 kilometres of diverse coastline exploring interesting wrecks, underwater caverns, and an abundance of marine life.

Winter Wonderland

When the end of season parties are over, the heart of Ibiza continues to pulse through the winter months. The sun continues to shine and beach lovers can enjoy full days of paradise at well-run venues such as Cotton Beach Club and Elements Beach Ibiza. The markets are bustling with locals offering special delicacies, such as olives and the traditional drink Hierbas Ibiciencas. Locals adore the street markets, and a sense of community extends to a warm welcome for winter tourists. Natural soaps, aloe vera products, and leatherware make up some of the charming offerings, but for a truly unforgettable experience tourists can visit the Japan-Ibiza Rainbow Bridge Art Collaboration at the well-known San Juan Sunday market: visitors can enjoy the art while relaxing to ambient music and sampling sweet treats, such as biscuits dipped in chocolate.

Restaurants come into their own during winter months, with inland treasures holding special themed events with gourmet three course menus at reasonable prices. Sea-view restaurants allow you to enjoy watching the power and energy of the Mediterranean Sea in winter months and tapas events are hugely popular, some combining heartwarming food and drinks with live music including rock and roll.

As the end of the year nears, the beat of Ibiza revs up once again in preparation for New Year parties across a range of famous hotspots. Pacha remains open all year round and its New Year's Eve parties are the envy of the world. Fiestas across the island make Christmas one of the most charming times of the year to be in Ibiza. Leave behind the commercial frenzy for some quality family time with a sprinkling of winter sun. Better still, celebrations in Ibiza extend well into January with the spectacular carnival ‘Dia de los Reyes Magos’ on 6th January, where colourful floats fill the streets of Ibiza Town and mesmerise children with even more gifts and treats.

Whatever your passion, day or night, winter or summer, the golden island of Ibiza certainly has the spark to light your fire.
