Have no idea what to see in Warsaw? You’re not alone.

Most visitors basically do not go beyond the boundaries of Śródmieście, where the biggest attractions in Warsaw are located. I will show you five locally favorite places that may surprise you.

While first-time visitors might be surprised at the busyness around Central Station, there is so much more to see in town that will amaze you. Here's my list:

Palace of Culture and Science (Pałac Kultury i Nauki)

This is the most characteristic place in Warsaw, there is no doubt about it. You can't miss the view of the Palace of Culture and Science from the outside, but I strongly encourage you to see this place from the inside as well. The absolute minimum is a viewing point on the 30th floor, from where we can admire a beautiful view of the capital.I really encourage you to visit this place, especially at sunset. It is worth going up when it is still light, then watching the sunset, and finally admiring the capital after dark.

The Royal Baths (Łazienki Krolewskie)

The Royal Baths Park is one of the most popular places in Warsaw and is definitely worth visiting, especially when the weather is warm and everything is beautifully decorated with flowers. The Palace on the Isle, the Fryderyk Chopin Monument, the Old Orangery, the Amphitheater...these are just a few of the attractions that you will find there. Our walk is made more pleasant by peacocks strolling around the park and friendly squirrels, open to feeding. For a visit to this place you need to book at least 1-2 hours.

Royal Route (Trakt Królewski)

The Royal Route consistst of High streets Nowy Świat Street and Krakowskie Przedmieście. On the weekend, they are closed to traffic, so they turn into a nice promenade leading all the way to the Old Town. Various shops and restaurants are located here, as well as monuments, churches, the Presidential Palace, the University of Warsaw and various occasional exhibitions, e.g. during the celebration of the anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising.

Vistula boulevards (Bulwary Wiślane)

Warsaw's Vistula boulevards still smell new, there are many attractions for children (beach, trampolines, fountains, etc.), there is no shortage of places where you can sit for a while and breathe the Vistula breeze... Overall, it is nice and elegant there, as befits a European capital. (Honestly, I don't know any other European city that would have such nice boulevards as ours).

In the summer, the unofficial part of the boulevards turns into Warsaw's party hall. On weekend evenings, it is difficult to find a free place on the steps; people can drink alcohol there, listen to music, celebrate hen or stag parties...

Rooftop Garden on University Library (Ogród na dachu BUW)

This is one of the largest and certainly the most beautiful roof gardens in Europe. This is another place in the city center where you can take a break from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the greenery. Admission is free, I highly recommend going there! You can sit on bench and revel in the quiet.
