Six Things To Do At The South Street Seaport After Dark
For New Yorkers, there is nothing like the South Street Seaport after dark. This after hours hot spot is a favorite among locals as well as curious tourists. Though the seaport has great attractions that are frequented all day, the fun doesn't stop when the sun goes down.
“Fulton Street is the seaport’s main street and includes mom and pop businesses, souvenir shops, historic cast iron and late 19th Century buildings,” said Jennifer Li of Liberty Cruise NYC. “It’s some of the most fascinating architectural juxtapositioning you’ll ever see.”
Here are six things you can do at South Street Seaport
1. The iPic Theater, located in the renovated Fulton Market Building, is an unforgettable experience. Referred to as “affordable luxury,” movie goers can get food and drinks with a menu overseen by Sherry Yard, a James Beard Award-winning Chef.
If you prefer to keep your movie-going experience and dining separate, there’s also an in-house restaurant and bar called the Tuck Room. With its own mixologist, after dark drinks have never been better!

2. To enjoy some adult beverages without the movie beforehand, head over to Clinton Hall, a.k.a Supercraft. This draught beer wonderland boasts 20 different beers and ciders, the selection of which is changed several times each year. Pair one of those 20 drinks with one of the 20 burgers on the menu and you have a winning combination of food and beverage.

3. The Seaport Music Festival is a yearly event that has become a staple of life in New York City. Every year since 2002, the festival features independent musicians from all over the world that attend to introduce themselves to a new audience of listeners. Many new bands that performed at past festivals have gone on to achieve success and popularity all over the country and beyond. This is a must-do for anyone who appreciates good music and wants to be introduced to something new.

4. The Black Hound is yet another fun thing to do. It is a speakeasy that specializes in cocktails and locally brewed beers. Some of the cocktails they are best known for include 100 day old Manhattans. Like a true speakeasy, you enter it through a door that you would otherwise never know led to a bar.
5. In addition to everything else that there is to do, you can also go on a guided tour of the Fourth Ward. Hosted by the South Street Seaport Museum, this district was known for housing some of the most eccentric figures in the area. The Fourth Ward was considered a little seedy, so it includes sordid stories that are best suited for non-sensitive ears. It meets evenings at the seaport and takes you on an after dark adventure you could only experience in the Big Apple.

6. Take a mini cruise with Liberty Cruise NYC, and combine it with focused exploration of some downtown spots, and you will be able to see some amazing scenes.
Liberty Cruise NYC gives you an excuse to explore the seaport before hopping on a boat to experience even more of what Lower Manhattan has to offer. You’ll see those amazing views of the iconic New York skyline--such as the Statue of Liberty, One World Trade Center, or even views as far uptown as the Empire State Building.
These are just some of the fun activities to do and experience in and around the seaport. It’s an equally fascinating experience on land and at sea and is evolving more and more every day. There is always something happening at the seaport and a trip to the city isn't complete without checking it out for yourself. As one of Lower Manhattan's after hours spots, the seaport continues to thrive.
