I had visited Prague in 1991 and been sent to fill an empty jug with beer from the best brewery in Prague. 

I stumbled through the streets, found the clock that hangs over the door, and filled the jug.  I enjoyed some of the best beer I had ever tasted. 

This trip, I was hoping to take my children to the same place if it still existed.

You've got a lot of stuff, you're tense, you're tired, you're waiting for a plane, and you have a 4 year old (or a 6 yr old or a 9 yr old - they're all restless at the airport).  Maybe you have one hour to relax before the first flight or, perhaps, you have 4 hours to enjoy on a layover.  Yes!  "relax" and "enjoy".

Sure there's the obvious hand-held video games, e-book readers, portable dvd players, laptops, iPads etc. What are some other things that might be great to bring on a trip with kids that encourage safety, education, and adventure ... ?

Should we visit the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum with kids?

Yes!

It’s an inspiring experience that’s tough to replicate without an expensive plane ticket to Europe.  

Traveling is an excuse to look at the world with new eyes. What’s different? What’s the same? It’s easy to get distracted by the big differences such as language, architecture, or dress. Training ourselves or our kids to look for the little interesting details is a challenge.

What sort of little detail?

We discovered a great guest house in Trang, Thailand. It’s just a few years old and hasn’t really been discovered yet. It’s perfect for families!

We were recently writing a story about “visiting” India without leaving home and we were looking for neat ways to introduce kids to yoga. This is what is fun about blogging … look what we discovered trying to write about India …  Kid Yoga Stories! They are the coolest. The books are colorful and friendly.
