Last summer, my mom came over to Stockholm to see me for three weeks, and we decided we wanted to go somewhere hot and sunny for one week of fun in the sun. My mom has always wanted to go to Croatia and I had only been to the north so we decided on going to southern Croatia.

Last summer I had the opportunity to work in Barcelona at BarcelonaSAE (Study Abroad Experience), a study abroad company located in the heart of the city. I came on board to assist during the very busy and hectic summer season that saw more than 200 students come through in just three months!

Last year we took a two week vacation to Italy to visit friends and to go to Cinque Terre. Cinque Terre has long been on my list to visit and I always meant to go when I lived there but somehow I never got around to it and then when I wanted to go, it was too late as I was moving away.

This spring my mom came to visit me in May, and as usual we decided to get away for a long weekend.  We have a tradition of leaving the Sweden every time she comes to visit me, and this year we decided to go to Alghero, Italy! It had been almost a year since I had been to Italy, so I was itching to go back.

Portugal had long been on my list to visit for many years, but somehow despite living in Europe for over seven years, I never managed to make it over there. I have heard so many great things about Lisbon that I knew I had to make it happen, so last year my boyfriend and I decided it was time to book our tickets.

After nearly five years living in Sweden, there are so many places that I have yet to visit. I have a top five list of places I tell myself I am going to see every year, but somehow it never happens, I usually end up traveling abroad instead of within Sweden.

And we are off again to Stockholm's Archipelago, this time to Gällnö! Thankfully I have a few friends here in Stockholm who love the archipelago as much as I do, so it doesn't take much convincing to go out on a beautifully sunny day.

I realize it's been a while since I have written anything for my Stockholm's archipelago series, but that is because unfortunately this year I didn't get to go out so often.

So I realized there is one place that I have not written about yet, one of my most favorite cities in the world, Rome.  Rome is where my love of travel first started and where I first studied abroad. Fast forward many years later, it still remains one of the biggest loves of my life.
