How to take photos of the beautiful northern lights.

I've shared some Northern Lights photos from Norway here on Wandering Educators, and was asked to share my photographic techniques.

Here are photos of some animals, made in stone, at Kjørstad, Eidsfjord, Vesterålen. It's a 40 min drive from my home. You can see cormorant bird, cow, eagle, fox, puffin, black grouse, seagulls, a stone church, a stone man, and a turtle.

They are placed around in the woods, not far away from the gravel road. A person made these things out of rocks. Take a look...

Solar eclipse, March 15. at 11.02. Some snow came in over us, but got a glimpse of the solar eclipse. Taken from my porch, at Hognfjorden, Vesterålen, Norway.

Here are some pics from arctic Norway taken in February. Some beautiful sunsets, animals, and nature, just outside where I live.
 

The comet Lovejoy is now visible at the sky, among many millions stars. These photos were taken with my canon 6D, and my 200 mm lense, at jan. 20. 2015.

From Hognfjorden, Vesterålen. Beautiful auroras this week  - taken from my house, just 100 meters down, by the sea.

November 23, 2014. Some great auroras and stars, over Andøy, northern Norway. It's  nice, these days and nights up here...

Oct 20, near where I live. Beautiful aurora borealis - had a great outburst for several hours, and I enjoyed it!! I shot around 400 pics that night...love it!
