These photos were taken where I grew up, a little place called Nordmela, at Andøya Island in northern Norway. I had to drive one hour, to get clear of the clouds, and headed to the west side of Andøya. There were some auroras, as you can see:-)

The smell hit me first as I stepped out of the accursed plane. It was lovely, although slightly ruined by the aroma of smog and airport cleaner.  The smell was the scent of fresh Hawaiian air. Hawaii has its own smell and that fragrance washed the plane like sanitizer never could have.
