The Tampa Bay area is vast and it has some great restaurants in every niche. Recently there was a sushi battle event where over 50 sushi restaurants around the Tampa Bay area participated by submitting their best sushi rolls and there was even a sake tasting. The following are some of the best sushi restaurants from around the Tampa Bay area. 

Origami Sushi is a hidden gem of the Tampa Bay sushi restaurant scene. Many do not know it is there due to the construction that was happening in front of where the restaurant is located. The location is at the intersection of Hillborough Ave. and Himes Ave. This sushi restaurant is great for those new to sushi as well as the seasoned sushi veteran as they have pictures of all of their rolls. There are no worries about getting tired of the same order, as they have specialty rolls that change weekly depending on the chef. The prices are very fair and the rolls are quite large. 

Sake Sushi is on north Dale Mabry Avenue in Tampa. Sake sushi is all you can eat sushi, and their lunch deal is $10.99 for unlimited sushi that is made fresh when you order, unlike many all you can eat sushi restaurants. This restaurant is good for those who have a person who does not enjoy sushi, as they have hibachi also made to order and even dessert that boasts a butter pecan ice cream and tempura banana to die for. The sushi is a bit above average, but for the price you cannot get a better deal.

Ocean Blue Sushi Bar is located on north Dale Mabry Avenue, as well. The variety on the menu is exquisite and their happy hours starting at 10PM on select days make this a hot spot as music is played. This is great for the person who wants to go out for a fun dinner and drink late on a weekend. The sushi is delicious and their bartenders mix quite a cocktail.
