Northern Irish Film - Top Picks: Middletown, Hunger, and Bloody Sunday

However far away you may be from the fresh air and rocky coasts of Northern Ireland, there’s no need to miss the fine storytelling and visual art of Northern film.

Here are a few Northern films to enjoy, available via the Internet, DVD, or if you’re in Belfast at the right time, a showing at the Queen’s Film Theatre. Each is remarkable for its story, acting and cinematography, and for the clear and uncompromising glimpse into the beauty, history and comedy of Northern Irish life.

Northern Irish Film – More Top Picks: Divorcing Jack and Cherrybomb

Here are a few more Northern films to enjoy, available via the Internet, DVD, or if you’re lucky to catch them at the right time, a showing at the Queen’s Film Theatre in Belfast.

Belfast and Northern Ireland: Safe for Travelers?

Recently, the U.S. and Australian state departments issued travel warnings to those planning on visiting Northern Ireland. And her author interview, about her book An Old Castle Standing on a Ford.

In many ways, it is two books in one: the first part of the book focuses
on Ryan’s initial trips, and the friends she made and situations she
encountered. The second half has more to do with the political side of
things, informed by Ryan’s on the ground experiences living in Northern
Ireland, and her access to those involved in the day to day politics of
the north.
