Cirque du So...LA!
Las Vegas won’t be the only city associated with Cirque du Soleil from now on! The esteemed company will now run a film-themed production in Los Angeles that will start this month and run for the next 10 years. Cirque du Soleil IRIS (pronounced “ee-rees”) will play at the Kodak Theatre permanently, only stepping aside one month out of the year when the Oscars need the glamorous performance space. The show features wild acrobatics, state-of-the-art audio visual technology, and lively music and dance. Live video along with filmed sequences and animation will help audiences become a part of the film-making practice, exploring the history of cinema and all its genres. As IRIS will run in Hollywood, it is only fitting that the story revolves around the film industry! To add even more to the movie aspect of the show, renowned composer Danny Elfman has written a brilliant and magical score that is sure to be a hit. There have already been a few preview performances of the show and it has been getting rave reviews! This unique production is well on its way to becoming an important Hollywood staple!
