Over the next few months a number of new exhibitions in Italy will prove to be a great attraction for art lovers.
Now: At the Arsenale and other venues in Venice. A reminder that
the 'Making Worlds' exhibition, part of the 2009 Biennale, will remain
open until 22nd November.
Now until 17th January 2010: 'Paintings of an Empire' at the
Scuderie del Quirinale venue in Rome. This exhibition will bring
together examples of imperial art including frescoes, landscapes as
well as portraits on wood and glass.
From 2nd October: at the Galleria Borghese in Rome, sees the launch of an exhibition comparing the work of Caravaggio with that of Francis Bacon, marking the 400th anniversary of the Italian painter's death and the centenary of Bacon's birth.
From 5th December until 13th December: Florence's will host its
own Biennale celebration, attracting some 800 artists from seventy four
countries to this Tuscan city.
