My kids often think that learning is B.O.R.I.N.G. When they see other kids having fun, they often want to do the same. In this book, a girl and her mom talk about ways to learn about the people and cultures in the world. Having that young voice shine through is a great influence on my own kids. We just looked online to find out what Staigue Fort is, and also loved the video resources that were recommended. I especially love the reading list. What a wonderful read. While I don't have kids of my own, I do work in a study abroad office at a university. At an age where young adults who were not raised with cultural competence in mind start to realize its importance, college students start to look to their educators for help.
