Study abroad blogging is becoming more popular every semester, and understandably so. There a huge number of benefits associated with writing a study abroad blog, both personal and professional: It's a great way to keep in touch with family and friends, it acts as an electronic journal, it's a place to host photo albums online, it's a great way to interact with other study abroad students, it can be used as part of a future portfolio or resume, etc. As fast as study abroad blogging is growing, there are a lot of blogging related websites that students may not be aware of, which is why I’ve put together this list of study abroad blog communities, resources, and programs.

Wandering Educators Youth Travel Blogging Mentorship Program

That’s right, Jessie and Ed are offering a blogging program here on Wandering Educactors!

The Wandering Educators Youth Travel Blogging Mentorship Program is for kids who have a natural curiosity about the world, and a passion for expressing themselves through words, photos, videos, and conversations. The current (and ever changing) state of the world we live has created opportunities, and a lifestyle, that didn't exist a decade ago. Now, more than ever, kids can truly live their dreams, and create the life they want.

The Wandering Educators Youth Travel Blogging Mentorship Program is an on-going, free, multi-term online class and mentoring program for students ages 14-18. While the application deadline for the Fall term has already passed, you can still apply for the Spring 2013 term.

GoAbroad Network

GoAbroad Network, a member of the GoAbroad.com family, is a travel community that lets you connect with family, friends and travelers worldwide through travel journals, photos, maps and other applications. Whether you’re studying, volunteering, or doing business abroad, the GoAbroad Network will make it easy for you to share your journeys through travel journal space.

You can add and send photos and videos, publish an RSS feed, and you can even take your journals to your Facebook profile with their Facebook Apps. Meet and make friends with other travelers on the site, then send messages, share travel tips and form clubs with those who share your interests. The diverse journals on the site offer valuable help on your future travel planning, and the community is a great resource for practical and experienced travel advice.

TSAB Network

The Study Abroad Blog Network is a WordPress powered blogging community which provides a high-quality, safe, and free platform for students to share their study abroad experiences through posts, pages, pictures and other media on their blogs. Students will be able to create their own unique study abroad blog, and have their content broadcasted out over The Study Abroad Blog’s social media following on Facebook and Twitter.

Any study abroad student can sign up for his or her own blog on the TSAB Network, and membership is currently free! Once registered, you’ll have access to a number of different blogging themes or “skins”, widgets, and plug-in options, and you’ll also be able to upload photos, videos, podcasts, and music. If you’re not into the technical aspect of blogging, you’ll have the choice to use either the easy or standard blogging dashboard.
