Each December Great Wolf Lodge holds their signature holiday event called Snowland. Snowland festivities will include:  Three daily snow shows inside the Grand Lobby (Yes, it will be snowing indoors!), appearances by Santa, North Pole University for Elves, holiday carol sing-along, Santa's workshop, writing depot, wrapping depot, toy creation station, Polar Wolf Walk, Great Clock Tower holiday snow show, nightly story time with character Rowdy the Reindeer, and a Polar Bear Race inside the 84-degree indoor waterpark (click here for rates and availability at Great Wolf Lodge Traverse City).

This week we went to Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City! The main reason to go was SNOWLAND! It was so much fun!

But the second reason we went was the Waterpark!

When I first walked into the lobby, I thought it was a miracle. The last time we'd been there, it was decked out for Halloween. This time, the whole lobby was prepared for snow. If you look into the top and you go by the desk, look up - you will see fake snow! Snow is on the chandelier, on the tundra of all of the animals, and even under the many lit pine trees.

Every evening from 5-6pm, you can go to Candy Lane, and see all kinds of Christmas trees. Candy Lane is fun! You can decorate a cookie and also get chocolate milk. You get a prize craft at the end. But the most fun part was tree #5, which was decorated with wolves and a huge water bucket like in the waterpark! BUT! Trick out! It dumps candy instead of water!

Great Wolf Lodge also had a fun activity called North Pole University. There were 5 tasks for us to do. Some were crafts, and some involved learning. When you finish all 5, you get a diploma noting that you are a "certified, dignified, and truly Specialed Elf" - too fun! You also get tokens for the arcade and a gift. You can also write a letter to Santa and mail it.

The cool thing about the storytime each night was that at the end, IT SNOWED!!!! Do you think it can snow inside? You'll have to go and find out the secret yourself.

It was crazy because while we were in Traverse City, there was a HUGE blizzard! It was cool to be inside a very warm waterpark, playing, while the storm raged outside.
