People, Pictures, and Places: Opportunities Abound

I’ve always been interested in a career with an international focus. At the moment, two  jobs interest me. The first is teaching English abroad, and the other is working as an international photographer. Both careers involve traveling, which is something I truly enjoy. Here’s why these two career paths intrigue me:

Teaching English Abroad

There are many opportunities to teach outside of the United States, and there are many different ways to educate not only myself, but others as well. I could become a private tutor for a host family in Italy, or teach at a school in Chile. The possibilities are endless. To become involved in teaching English in foreign countries, I would first have to obtain my high school diploma. Most programs require applicants to be at least 18 years of age. Therefore, I have a few more years to develop my teaching experience and decide if this is something that I would really like to do.  This career choice is appealing to me in many ways. I think it would be really incredible to be able to teach other people how to speak and write English.  Helping them learn these skills is something that inspires me. It would also be a great way to explore other cultures, whilst gaining a new perspective on different countries.

Having this type of teaching experience on my resume would be a huge benefit. Employers value international experience as well as the ability to speak a foreign language. Traveling across the globe teaching, and making memories as I go, would be a dream come true for me!

The world is your oyster!

International Photographer

I have always enjoyed taking pictures and using photo editing programs to change backgrounds, enhance colors, and insert special effects. I take joy in photographing  anything to do with nature or people. I like experimenting with different scenes and taking shots from contrasting angles.

I would really like to travel overseas and photograph places, like the neon cities of Tokyo. I would love to capture the essence of beautiful Germany. Having the opportunity to photograph places like Italy, France, and England would be nothing short of amazing.

My absolute ultimate dream photography job would be located in Tahiti. I would don my scuba gear and dive in with my underwater camera to explore worlds unknown to me. How cool would that be?

Being an international photographer seems like a natural career choice for me. I would definitely need a little bit of previous experience, an eye-catching portfolio, and a whole lot of luck. There are plenty of freelance photography jobs out there, but finding an employer that is actually willing to pay for photographs is the tricky part.

Travel photography is a fantastic occupation!  A new view of things opens up; things like people, buildings, places, sights, and more. It’s like a super cool vacation! I could see myself pursuing this type of career.

Regardless of what I decide to do with my future, I know that I need follow my dreams and take a path that brings me happiness. I want to travel, have fun, inspire others, and make a difference in the world. Whether I am teaching English in another country or snapping photos of ruins in Greece, I know that I will be living my life to the fullest!
