The Villa Borghese is a gorgeous city park in Rome, Italy. During a stroll in the park, you’ll find beautiful grounds and awe-inspiring views.

It’s a wonderful place for anybody in the city to gather. For a young child, I imagine it would be something like a wonderland with a playground, bunches of balloons, gelato stands, and candy vendors spinning huge cones of fresh cotton candy.

But everyone will enjoy the beautiful gardens, large dog park, “Giardino Zoologico” – zoo, and, of course, the famed Galleria Borghese – a museum filled with masterpieces of painting and sculpture.

With unique trees, creepy statues, and a clock that runs on water, the park is full of surprises.

How you choose to make your way around the park depends on your preference and your budget. Biking, surrey biking, and driving a golf cart driving are all fun modes of transportation.

Otherwise, a simple stroll is great as well.

There are plenty of activities to enjoy either way. People play sports or simply relax on the wide fields.

I once saw a Catholic group playing music in the park and a crowd of people rose to join them in dance and song. On a smaller scale, street musicians entertain passersby with their tunes.

Families, couples, and groups of friends are to be seen all over, running, laughing, or just relaxing and enjoying each other’s company on a sunny spring weekend in Rome.
