Visiting the largest hotel art and antique collection in the US
Centuries-old works of art adorn the vast public spaces of the Hilton Anatole Hotel - so much a part of the place that guests often pass by without even noticing.
Built in 1979 by one of Dallas' top real estate development families, the Anatole houses over 1000 pieces of art, making it the largest hotel art and antique collection in the US. No surprise it's located in Texas, where the state is often remembered for the slogan, "Everything is bigger in Texas."
Part museum, part hotel, the art collection at the Anatole can be enjoyed a number of different ways:
- Top Art Treasures is a walk around the hotel showcasing the most iconic artifacts in the collection
- One Mile Art Walk is designed for the fitness-aware guest
- Art Dine Around is, you guessed it, an art and food experience
- Scavenger Hunt can be designed for large or small groups
I did a combination self-guided and Top Art Treasures Walk with a friend, and marveled that we'd never experienced the art of the Anatole, though we live in Dallas.
Following are just a few photographs of the magnificent art works at the Dallas Hilton Anatole Hotel. Whether you're a local or visitor to Dallas, don't miss this unique collection.
The atrium lobby of the Hilton Anatole and beautiful reflecting pool are works of art themselves.
The gossip bar early in the morning - look at the beautiful light filtering through the atrium.
