"Why be part of the masses when one can savor Savannah's charm and history, uniquely, through storied, on-topic introductions," shares the passionate marketer.  The Presidents' Quarters Inn launched its custom walking tours with Orlando Montoya, a popular Savannah-based public radio broadcaster, on Mother's Day weekend 2009.  "I've had the privilege of covering Savannah as the local news producer for public radio.  During this time, I've interviewed hundreds of people for stories on the city's arts, news and culture.  I'm pleased to put this knowledge to work for guests of The Presidents' Quarters Inn on this Mother's Day walking tour," shares the engaging Mr. Montoya.

"Of course, you can't escape Savannah's beauty and certainly that will be on show as well: the Colonial town plan, our mighty oaks, colorful flowers and the vibrant, living history that Savannah is creating every day," shares Mr. Montoya.   The Inn's Mother's Day walking tour on Saturday, May 9, 2009, highlighted the formidable women who have played and are playing a role in Savannah's past and present.  Developed exclusively for the inn's guests, the guided walk connected guests of The Presidents' Quarters Inn with a few of the 23 Presidents -- as well as a future First Lady -- whom Savannah has hosted.

Prominent on the tour will be Mary Telfair (benefactor of the Telfair Museum of Art), Juliette Gordon Low (founder of Girl Scouts), Susie King Taylor (an African-American, CivilWar Contemporary), Paula Wallace (co-founder of the Savannah College of Art and Design), Paula Deen (celebrity southern chef on Food Network), Diane Lesko (Telfair art director who shepherded the $24.5 million Jepson Center into existence), and U.S. presidents George Washington, William Taft, and Woodrow Wilson. "We will customize and repeat the tours, based on the interests of our guests," concludes Ms. Traub.
