Huzzah! Why You Need to Visit the Michigan Renaissance Festival
Have you been yet to the Michigan Renaissance Festival? Located in Holly, Michigan, it is well worth visiting, for a variety of reasons, but also...to travel back in time!
Why do we love this event so much?
It's a joyful time out, full of interesting things to see, do, and eat. Dogs are welcome (register them at the gate; we met the BEST dog, named Sirius Black, of course).
And, it's so much fun for the whole family.
Read on for our 5 favorite reasons to visit, illustrated by 53 (!!!!) photos:
Performances
There is so much talent here. Check the schedule, and make time to see the shows, listen to singers, and discover who is doing what around each corner!
Even if you are there all day, you won't be able to see it all. So try to make time for the performances you want to see (or, conversely, wander around and let serendipity find you).
Shopping
OH MY! There is a plethora of artistic talent here, from costumes to art to quirky pieces. Truly, this is an extraordinary marketplace! Take a look:
Including our friend, Lara Jean Doodles! Click here to read our artist interview with her.
Quirkiness around every corner
Speaking of quirky, you never know what you'll see here.
Mermaid coffee? Count me in!
Jousting
What's better than knights on horses?
A competition with knights on horses! It's thrilling (and, at times, funny).
Jousting for the fair lady
Costumes
From the performers to the queen and her retinue to everyday folks dressed up, the costumes are part of the fun.
