Humorist Jean Shepherd’s memoir of growing up in the midwest in the 1940s follows 9-year-old Ralphie in his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree for Christmas. The consistent response: “You’ll shoot your eye out!” It’s all here including the family’s exploding furnace, the wet tongue on a cold lamppost and the “prize” lamp shaped like a woman’s leg. “CHRISTMAS in the PARK” Hosted by the Morse Museum of American Art

December 5 is the 41st Anniversary of a beautiful and generous tradition from the Morse Museum of American Art and the City of Winter Park as they present the Annual “Christmas in the Park” in Winter Park. The FREE outdoor event begins with the thrilling moment at 6:15 pm when NINE century-old Tiffany-glass windows are lighted throughout the Park creating a luminous concert hall for the 160-voice Bach Festival Choir. Sweet, Fresh, Juicy: Florida Oranges in Art and History

The citrus industry had an enormous impact on Central Florida during the mid-20th century, and the Museums’ new exhibit spans the Maitland Art Center Gallery and the Maitland Historical Museum to examine the rise and fall of the citrus industry through a collection of historic citrus labels, many on loan from the Orange County Regional History Center. PHANTASMAGORIA Returns with “A Christmas Carol – a Ghost Story”
Dates below: If you have yet to see a production from the Orlando-based theatre troupe Phantasmagoria, you are forgiven ONLY if you know them solely for their spooky productions at Halloween. This Holiday Season, however, brings those “Steampunk Theater Ghouls” out in force to give us “A Christmas Carol – A Ghost Story” – which is the way Dickens himself saw it.  Remember -- Ghost of – Christmas Past, Christmas Present, and the Ghost of Unsent Christmas Cards – Oops! Anyway, this cirque-style troupe is back with the most famous ghost story of all time. Central Florida Ballet’s Incomparable Nutcracker Experience

Lillian Verkins’ “Over the Moon” Art Exhibit

I’m “Over the Moon” honored to serve as the Curator for this exhibit by one of Florida’s most celebrated Artists at the Gallery at the Orlando Science Center. Lillian Verkins has received 26 juried awards including four “Best of Show” and five “1st Place” awards. Her OSC exhibit includes 30 paintings, most of which are quite large and rich in gorgeous color.
