As they await a full re-opening of our beloved BC food scene, Food Tours Kelowna has taken it upon themselves to keep supporting local with The Okanagan Food Show podcast (available on Apple, Google, Spotify, iHeart Radio and more podcast platforms). Murissa and Taryn Shalapata, co-founders of Food Tours Kelowna and sisters, provide unfiltered banter about local eats, drinks, and interview the unique personalities behind the Okanagan food and wine scene.

Food Tours Kelowna, a division of Wander Full Food Tours Inc., was set to launch in April 2020, but with the shut down and constant fluctuations of public health orders and regulations, Murissa and Taryn have been dreaming up and creating ways to continue supporting their favourite local restaurants and culinary neighbourhoods. From Foodie Boxes delivered to your door, the new Kelowna Foodie Card for 2021 (available at Tourism Kelowna gift shop), and their informative Instagram account, the sisters have been non-stop despite not being able to offer walking food tours…yet. Taryn concurs, “we are passionate about supporting local even if that doesn’t look like our original plan of walking food tours. We love to talk about food so why not give shout outs to our favourite Okanagan businesses with a podcast?”

The Okanagan Food Show launched May 10th, 2021 with a new episode released each Monday. Tune in for interviews with restauranteurs, foragers, wine makers, and chefs. But it is exciting to bring this to the Okanagan Valley for 2022,” Murissa confirms.
