UW-Platteville’s Institute for Study Abroad Programs seeks to retain a
person to coordinate its international exchange and short-term,
faculty-led programs.
Position: Associate Student Services Coordinator; 12-month, Academic Staff
Dates: Deadline for receipt of applications: March 8, 2010
Position to begin July 1, 2010. Employment requires criminal background
check.
Responsibilities: Coordination of international exchange and short-term,
faculty-led international programs, marketing and promoting education
abroad programs to students, advising students, working with faculty to
develop short-term programs.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree; experience working in international
education and in marketing and promotion within a college/university
setting (student employment acceptable); public speaking skills; ability
to connect with students, faculty/staff, and parents; strong verbal and
written communication skills; strong organizational skills; demonstrated
ability working as an effective team member; demonstrated experience
using MS Office Suite. Demonstrated commitment to or experience with
racially diverse populations.
PREFERRED: Master’s degree; experience studying or working outside of
the U.S. for at least four consecutive months; supervisory experience;
ability to communicate theories of cross-cultural communication; fluency
in a language other than English; experience leading and organizing
orientations, training programs or workshops.
