Dolly Levi at HOME in the Annie Russell Theatre

The Annie Russell Theatre at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, concludes its 83rd season with the iconic Hello, Dolly! by Michael Stewart and Jerry Herman. Set in the 1890s, Hello Dolly! transports us to the era of Annie Russell’s heyday, and the time period is not the only similarity to be found between Ms. Russell and the beloved matchmaker Dolly Levi.

Postcard from Sanibel Island

The sun beats down on my shoulders as I stroll casually down the waterline. Small, fragile, shells crunch beneath my feet, and grains of sand work themselves between my toes. I can hear birds calling, and children shouting and laughing. I pause to bend over and pick up a shell. All along the beach, shells are piled along the wrack line. Sanibel Island is one of my favorite places in the world, and the shells are part of the reason.

EUREKA! The Moment When Art and Science Collide

A rocket scientist walks into an art gallery to review an opening….

This may sound like the start of a joke, but it’s a true story. Brad Biggs, founder and owner of Art for All Spaces asked this former Aerospace Engineer to write a review of the March 18, 2016 opening at CityArts Factory at 29 S Orange Ave, in downtown Orlando --  from a scientist’s perspective. The show continues through April 9th, with gallery hours M to F from 11 am to 6 pm.
