Rates of anxiety among children and adolescents are on the rise. One out of every five children aged 12-17 report feelings of anxiety over the past two weeks. Jennifer Licate wrote the book My Anxiety is Messing Things Up to help children learn how anxiety presents and strategies they can use to feel better during anxious times through an engaging and relatable story.

At some point of being a parent, we will be faced with an issue with our child and the school they go to. Sometimes it’s in the form of a dreaded email from the teacher saying that your kid has crossed the line and that you must come in for a meeting, or the guidance counselor/principal will call to tell you that your teen has missed a week of school altogether, and you don’t have the slightest idea as to why.

Many mothers make the choice to take a few years out of their working lives while their baby is young. There are many reasons to do this if you can afford to, such as not having to arrange or pay for childcare, being able to spend precious time with your child at this unique age, and discovering new passions.
