How to Plan for a Long Car Trip

Long car trips can be fun, but they can also be very tiring and expensive. This is why it’s important to have a plan in place to help you anticipate how much time and money you need to spend.

Lots of people go on long rides for fun. As they say, “getting there is half the fun.” If you have enough time and money to spend, you can be as leisurely as you want. You can even go on side trips to check out some sights off the beaten path. However, this is not the case for those who need to travel with time and budget restraints.

When I first entered the stylish and graceful Hotel Belvedere in Locarno, Switzerland, I was unaware of the structure's history. A 2017 renovation instilled modernity into the hotel, so the historical value of the property was not readily apparent. My visit to this 4-star hotel, commanding lovely views of Lake Maggiore and the surrounding mountains, was made in conjunction with an early September Hiking in Style media trip to Switzerland. A tour of the hotel opened my eyes to the building's historical value and its incredible art collection.

One of the major drawcards to life as a traveling educator is that you get to experience different cultures without having to forego your passion for teaching. Debt can place a damper on that experience, and according to research, those with debt  experience high levels of guilt and shame.

Unbeknownst to a lot of people, however, is that everything they need is actually right there with them in their pocket – a smartphone.
