Photo Fridays: Spring is in the Air
Spring is in the air! After a very cold week (which we didn't really feel, as we were at the Unschooler's Winter Waterpark Gathering at the Kalahari Waterpark, in Sandusky. Ohio), we've gotten some hints of warmer weather.
Our daughter on the now defunct ice skating rink, and ice fishermen behind her
Can you see that pile of snow at the lakeside? That's the boat ramp - not so busy at the moment...
The frozen lake is topped with standing water and slush. The ice fishermen had their last day on the lake on Tuesday - and that same day, we flew our kite out on the lake. By Wednesday, it was too wet and goopy to be safe. When I think of all the words we have in our minds for our environment, THIS is what I remember - all the sights and sounds of spring coming. Yes, I know that winter will come again before we get really warm. But for now?

Oh! Those photos make me homesick for Minnesota. That's the thing I miss most living in CA -- the cold, slushy, snowy winter. Seasons, actually. Thanks for the photos! :) And Happy St. Valentine's Day!

Those are cool pictures. Now as far as ice fishing, that seems really, really cold, but then again I've never done it or seen it done :)

I think reflections in water are among my favorite landscape photos.

I especially like the third photo down and the sort of abstract patterns formed by the water on the ice and the reflections.
