Motown the Musical is a thrilling story that takes place throughout the history of one of the greatest record labels in history. Motown Records was responsible for countless hits, innumerable cultural influences, and was an important avenue for social activism and black culture. 

Detroit Beer: A History of Brewing the Motor City is the latest addition to Arcadia Publishing and The History Press' American Palate series. The book is written by local author and small business owner Stephen Johnson.

Such is the beautiful writing in the winner of Elephant Rock Books’ 2016 Sheehan YA Book Prize, The Art of Holding On and Letting Go, by Kristin Lenz. A fellow Michigander, Lenz has written a powerful story of family, finding yourself, and growing up. 

The new exhibit, 30 Americans. One Nation. Thirty Experiences, at the Detroit Institute of Arts, runs until January 18, 2016. I highly recommend planning a trip to Detroit to see this.
